Normative Data

Colleagues,

I am a practicing Physician with subspecialty training and certification in Emergency Medicine, Trauma, Critical Care, and Sports Medicine. I am currently active as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and have a busy concussion medicine and sports medicine practice in the greater Toronto area. I am also the Chief Medical Officer for Highmark Interactive, the company behind EQ Brain Performance.

I want to thank you for being part of the global clinical team utilizing EQ to provide better clinically relevant care to patients with traumatic brain injury and other causes of neurological dysfunction. As you know, EQ has taken a paradigm shifting approach to the assessment of neurological performance metrics. Utilizing the concept of ‘continunomics’, EQ fundamentally addresses the measurement of human brain performance as a dynamic picture. EQ allows clinicians to measure their patients’ performance in an ongoing manner, using games, providing clinicians with a “movie” of the patients’ performance versus a “snapshot”.

I am pleased to announce that EQ is now also able to provide clinicians with our developing normative datasets to assist in patient management. This dataset will continue to evolve and become more robust as the number of EQ users grows and, in view of this, we intend to send you updates to this dataset on a quarterly basis. Initially these updates will be via manual communication such as this, evolving over the next several weeks into an ability for you to access the most recent normative data within your EQ Dashboard. We are excited about our ongoing evolution and even more excited to be able to share it with leading-edge clinicians like yourself as we strive to assist you in best management of your patients with neurological challenges.

Best Personal Regards,

Chris Mazza MBA, MD, FRCPC
